Reba Mcentire stole my young heart with one verse..."She might have been born just plain white trash, but Fancy was-uh-her name". I hope you sang that in your head, and if you have no idea what I am talking about, you may not find me as clever as I find myself. Later, I realized the song was actually about a girl turned prostitute that moved her way up in the social classes, but as a white trash little kid, man did that line give me power. I almost named the blog "Fancy was her name" but wasn't sure that Reba would have approved.  I grew up not dirt poor, but definitely trashy. I was the girl that had unbrushed hair and smelled like cigarettes. My mom died when I was seven and my redneck father did the best he could.  But for a girl trying to be accepted (read:admired) I was lacking.  I'm not ashamed of where I came from, but I was. I spent my entire childhood and early adulthood pretending to be someone I wasn't. I embellished the truth. I co
